Chained to a kennel for 240 hours
Date & Time:8am, Friday, 18 July 2025 – 8am, 27 July 2025
Venue: Chocolate’s Angels Animal Rescue – Kalbaskraal, Cape Town

Jason’s 240-Hour Stand: Chained for Change

In a powerful act of compassion and protest, Jason Hayman, Director of Chocolate’s Angels Animal Rescue, is about to do something truly extraordinary — and deeply personal.

From 08am on the 18th (Mandela Day)  to 08am on the 27th of July 2025 Jason will chain himself to a kennel for 240 hours — ten full days — to shine a harsh spotlight on a cruel reality faced by too many innocent animals: being chained to kennels or left with no shelter at all, day after day, night after night, exposed to the heat, cold, rain, and fear. Many dogs don’t survive this kind of neglect. And the ones that do often suffer quietly in heartbreaking silence.

This isn’t just a symbolic gesture — it’s a wake-up call. And Jason won’t leave that chain until we all hear it.

Chocolate’s Angels has always been a sanctuary for the voiceless, offering safety, warmth, and love to abused, abandoned, and neglected animals. But right now, they’re at capacity. The need is growing, and space is running out.

That’s why this campaign is about more than awareness — it’s about action. Jason’s goal during these 240 hours is to raise R240,000 — that’s R1,000 for every hour he remains chained — to help Chocolate’s Angels secure a much larger, vacant property where they can save so many more lives.

💔 Too many animals are still suffering in chains.
🏡 Too many are turned away due to lack of space.
❤️ It’s time to do something.

Now, we’re asking YOU to be part of this. Whether you can give R5 or R5,000, every cent brings us closer to a world where no animal has to suffer at the end of a chain. Your donation doesn’t just support a cause — it helps build a future.

Share this post to amplify the message. Your share could be the one that changes everything for an animal in need.

Let’s help Jason turn every hour of his sacrifice into real, lasting change.
Let’s show the world that kindness is louder than cruelty.
Let’s break the chains — together.
